Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (salted)
  • 3 whole eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup heaping chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Prepare pie crust according to Sylvia's Perfect Pie Crust.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. In a bowl, mix white sugar, brown sugar, salt, corn syrup, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Spread chopped pecans evenly in the unbaked pie shell.
  5. Pour sugar and syrup mixture over pecans.
  6. Lightly cover top and edges of crust with foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake another 20 minutes.
  8. Check for doneness; pie should be set and not overly jiggly.
  9. If still jiggly, cover with foil and bake an additional 20 minutes or until set.
