Wenner Recipe Book
Ingredients
- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup melted butter (salted)
- 3 whole eggs, beaten
- 1 cup heaping chopped pecans
Instructions
- Prepare pie crust according to Sylvia's Perfect Pie Crust.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix white sugar, brown sugar, salt, corn syrup, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla.
- Spread chopped pecans evenly in the unbaked pie shell.
- Pour sugar and syrup mixture over pecans.
- Lightly cover top and edges of crust with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake another 20 minutes.
- Check for doneness; pie should be set and not overly jiggly.
- If still jiggly, cover with foil and bake an additional 20 minutes or until set.
